The NUTR series refers to a type of needle roller and cage assembly with a retaining (snap) flange. Similar to the NATR series, it is a standardized component (conforming to standards like ISO 3245) designed for use on a hardened and ground shaft. Its primary function is to provide radial support while the integral snap flange provides axial location (positioning) for the bearing assembly itself on the shaft. The flange is designed to snap into a groove on the shaft, securely locking the bearing in place axially. This design is particularly useful when the bearing needs to be positioned at a specific location on the shaft and axial space for other locking devices (like circlips) is limited.
