Design and Performance Characteristics
UK208 bearings belong to the category of outer spherical ball bearings and share the following core design advantages:
Self-Aligning Capability: The outer surface of the bearing's outer ring is spherical. When installed into a bearing housing with a matching spherical inner bore, it can automatically align itself. This feature effectively compensates for misalignment caused by installation errors, shaft deflection, or machining inaccuracies, thereby reducing wear and vibration.
Ready-to-Install and Sealing: This type of bearing is typically equipped with seals on both sides, which effectively prevent the ingress of contaminants. Furthermore, it is pre-lubricated from the factory, enabling a "ready-to-install" approach that greatly simplifies maintenance. The fixing methods include locking via set screws, eccentric sleeves, or adapter sleeves, facilitating direct installation onto solid shafts.
Load Characteristics: This bearing is primarily designed to withstand combined radial and axial loads, where the radial load is dominant. It is important to note that the allowable axial load generally should not exceed 20% of its dynamic load rating.
